Hailing from Chicago Illinois, Matthew recently completed his
Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Eastern Illinois University.
Matthew's marching career started early studying under Richard Saucedo
and Mike McIntosh at Carmel High School. From there he went on to
march in esteemed WGI lines Indianapolis Independent Percussion
Ensemble in 2006-2007, Gateway Indoor in 2010, and Rhythm-X in 2011.
Matthew continued his marching career outdoors spending 2008-2010 with
the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps where he acted as battery section
leader his last two years. Matthew has had the privilege to teach
numerous successful schools around the country such as Carmel, Ben
Davis, Kennesaw Mountain, and Marian Catholic High Schools. He is also
a clinician for Smith Walbridge Clinics acting as Assistant Marching
Band Director for the Illinois clinics, and as Assistant Percussion
Director for the Florida Gatorband clinics. Matthew is currently
acting Percussion/Assistant Band Director at Marian Catholic High
School, as well as Battery Visual Technician for the Blue Stars Drum &
Bugle Corps. Matthew is also the director of the Singapore Youthband
and does percussion clinics across the United States and Asia. In his
time away from school he enjoys audio engineering—mixing and mastering
for professional artists, as well as sample creation, voice-overs, and
audio slicing for marching bands and winter guards.
