Paul Loos is currently the Assistant Director and Percussion Director for Lake Orion High School. As artistic director, drill writer, and music arranger, Paul led Lake Orion Percussion to a WGI World Championship 1st place finish in Percussion Scholastic A class, the first in the program's history.
In addition to freelance performing, instruction and composing, Paul is the Artistic Director of NorthCoast Academy Percussion (NCA), a Detroit-based Percussion Independent World class organization (the highest class possible in WGI). At NCA, Paul worked from section technician in 2009 all the way to Artistic Director in 2011 to help get lead the group to its highest finish yet and it's first ever "Fan Favorite" award in 2012. From 2006 - 2012 Mr. Loos also co-designed, arranged and instructed at Walled Lake Central High School. This program won the 2006 WGI World Championship, as well as earned the 2007 WGI Bronze medal and 2012 WGI, Percussion Scholastic World "Fan Favorite" award. Paul has additionally toured with the Carolina Crown and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps where he has worked as choreographer, battery technician and percussion caption head in 2011.
Paul has toured and performed with a diverse group of musicians such as Phred Brown (music director for Bruno Mars and Selena Gomez), Emily Rodgers, Steve Cadwell, Eric and Jeremy Abby of 1592, Alesha Nicole Brown, Brain Miller of Oak Bones, Michigan State University Drumline, Pistons Drumline and Detroit Lions Drumline.
Mr. Loos is an active clinician and adjudicator, giving clinics throughout the US and Europe and is a Mapex and Majestic artist/clinician.
Paul is extremely excited to be returning to NorthCoast Academy for the 2017 season.
